<strong>law in Ecuador<\/strong> establishes that <strong>Ecuadorian and foreign children and adolescents residing in Ecuador who need to travel outside the country must have their parents&#8217; authorization<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the event that they <strong>travel out of the country with one of their parents<\/strong>, they must have the <strong>authorization of the other parent<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If they <strong>travel alone or with third parties<\/strong>, they require the <strong>authorization of both parents<\/strong>, unless one of them is deprived of parental authority; or, failing that, with the <strong>authorization of a judge.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When <strong>traveling alone or in the company of third parties<\/strong>, the <strong>departure authorization<\/strong> must state:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The reason for the trip<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The time they will remain out of the country<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The precise place of residence abroad<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the departure is for <strong>a period of more than six months<\/strong>, the authority that issued the authorization must <strong>immediately inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs<\/strong>, which <strong>will permanently monitor the location, activities and general condition of children and adolescents<\/strong> who have left the country under these conditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Authorization is not required<\/strong> when traveling in the company of <strong>both parents<\/strong> or if <strong>one of them has the authorization of the other<\/strong> in a <strong>public and duly authenticated document<\/strong>, in case it was granted in a foreign country.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>authorization<\/strong> is granted before a <strong>Notary Public<\/strong>, as a general rule.
